Dr Fikri was a great friend of Pakistan and demonstrated tremendous support for the country’s health programme. She expressed these views in a press conference in the federal capital.
Tarar vowed for extended cooperation with law enforcers who are investigating Asim for alleged fraud. The alleged culprit has also been removed from presidency of Nursing Council, she added.
She said that cases would be forwarded to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding alleged embezzlement in Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s (PMDC) management. Tarar said that Dr Shaista is not legal registrar but Dr Nadeem Akbar is.
The state minister vowed to get PMDC Ordinance approved by the Parliament. It is a mere coincidence that the Ordinance came to light when Dr Asim was arrested, she added.
