Barun Sobti[1] is an Indian actor. He is best known for his roles in Asur, Raat Jawaan Hai, Kohrra, Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Halahal. In 2023, he won the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in the Netflix series Kohrra.
Early life and career
[edit]Sobti was born and brought up in Delhi, India. He attended school at St. Mark's School in New Delhi. Before entering the entertainment industry, he worked as an operation manager at Jindal Telecom for 7 years.
Career
[edit]Sobti made his acting debut in 2009 as Swayam Khurana in Star Plus's Shraddha. He later did a cameo role in the medical show Dill Mill Gayye as Dr Raj, a medical intern with drug addiction.
In 2010, Sobti starred as Shravan Jaiswal in Sony TV's Baat Hamari Pakki Hai.

Barun Sobti is an Indian Television and Film actor. He was born into a Punjabi family in Delhi. Barun Sobti debuted into the Television industry with the faith-oriented show on Star Plus - Shraddha, after which he played a cameo role in the medical show - Dill Mill Gayye on Star One. Barun Sobti's first noticeable role was as the carefree Shravan Jaiswal in Sony TV's Baat Hamari Paaki Hai opposite Ankita Sharma. He was nominated for the Best Actor award in the prestigious Apsara Awards (Star Guild) for his role as Shravan.
Barun rose to fame through his role as the hot-shot angry young business tycoon Arnav Singh Raizada in Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? which instantly made him the Heartthrob of the Indian Television industry and received numerous awards for his flawless portrayal.
